Glossary for Backgammon

Cover : To put a second checker on your exposed blot.
Deep : The one or two point in your inner board.
Eating: Same as bearoff.
Gammon : When you bear off all of your checkers before your opponent has taken off any.
Home Board (Inner board): The board’s quadrant to which a player needs to move checkers for the bearoff.
Killing Numbers: To arrange checkers so your opponent cannot use certain numbers on their turn.
Match : A series of games played to a number of points usually 7
Mix It Up: To get involved in a blot hitting contest.
No Brainer: A running game where no hitting is possible.
Outer Board (Outfield) : The points numbered 7-18.
Points : One of the 24 triangular partitions on the board numbered from 1 to 24 or when you have two checkers on the same point forms a point.
Take: To accept the cube when doubled by the opponent.
